Lesser Caucasus is considered one of the flora and fauna rich environments in Caucasus region. There are also habitat being endemic to the area. Warfare apart from lost lifes and economic and social instability, brings also burden to the environment. These days there are news headlines saying burnt down forests, houses, logged old forests in Karabakh.

Mass fires was flaring up throughout Kalbajar district of Azerbaijan, which raises high environmental concern.
